The Inaugural Post

Hello out there to all you members, alumni, friends, family, and fellow blog-o-spherians. We here at the Cornell University Cycling Club thought it might be fun to dive on in and start up a blog to keep everyone up to date with all the goings on. While we are excitedly looking forward to the upcoming year in collegiate cycling, we want to take a quick look at some more recent events.

Last road season came and went unbelievably fast, but we did manage a solid showing at each weekend (save Yale… sorry Yale). Our race attendance exceeded our expectations, as did the number of racers attending; we had 23 members represent Cornell at eight races, bringing us into the top 20 largest clubs in the ECCC.

The mountain season soon followed and I must apologize I cannot comment on any of those events, but we’ll make sure to get someone to write us up a recap in the near future.

The Cyclocross season started off with...

That’s right, RED CROSS presented to you by Cornell Cycling! All of the praise for this first time event has to go to Brian L. and Jake S. They worked tirelessly to put this event together and I must say they did an awesome job. With plenty of rain and mud, it truly was a fun time. Make sure to hop on over to http://cornellcross.blogspot.com/ and check out the photos and results. The CX season is still ongoing with a couple of Cornell riders still going strong.

This brings us though the fall and into the beginning of winter… With just over 93 days left until the 2010 ECCC road opener at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, we have already begun preparations (mainly involving rollers in the corner of an indoor track) for a solid showing!

Well, that’s all for now. We’ll be bringing you updates throughout the winter, but until then… Good luck with your base!
